I received most of my training in pursuit of my own physical, emotional and spiritual healing or to help family members with a myriad of health problems. What I have found is there is not one answer or solution for every person and to heal ourselves in one area of life means we must address all areas of life simultaneously. We truly are whole integrated beings. What I have rediscovered is my audacious potential which inspires me to help others find theirs.
My undergraduate degree is in engineering and I tend to be very analytical and systems oriented by nature which has allowed me to integrate eastern philosophy and western physiology, anatomy, psychology and bio-chemistry into my personal practice and my coaching practice. I believe that knowledge is power but combined with experience it can create true wisdom which transcends that knowledge. I know that understanding foundational principals can turn the complicated into common sense. If I don’t have the answer that’s awesome because it just means I get to expand my repertoire. I believe we can learn to do anything we truly believe we can. We can even learn to change.
I believe that life should be lived out loud and good health does not need to feel restrictive. It may need to be restrictive but if done right you won’t feel a thing. I love great food and eating well. I am an avid cook/baker, have taken a culinary class or two and find great joy creating and teaching others to create in my kitchen (or theirs). I do believe in ancestral principals of eating which means you will not find much (if any) processed food in my kitchen. I love movement of all types but mostly you will find me on my yoga mat or in the woods with my dog. The occasional failure workout and sprint session keep me from feeling the old.
I value all people, fulfilling relationships, honesty, integrity, passionate work (doesn’t always have to be hard if you are passionate) and joy. I believe the majority of life’s problems can be solved if we take ourselves and our lives a little less seriously and learn to laugh just a little more. I have to get over myself quite regularly.
